Signing Up

At Circus Poker, downloading, installing and setting up the software is easy, the installer was downloaded from their website to my desktop while I browsed for details of the rake.

After filling in a simple form and choosing a screen name, the software loaded and I was ready to start playing. I used my Click and Buy account to deposit funds and was looking for a tasty tournament within minutes as the transfer was instant.

8/10

Software

The software has an uncomplicated look to it, yet boasts all the features I require in an online cardroom.

There is a limitless hand history stored directly on your hard drive which makes reviewing your play a simple matter, player note taking facilities are available with 200 characters for each opponent, you can even play up to 16 tables at a time so multitablers are well catered for.

Powerful filters allow you to find a suitable game in no time at all.

If you're looking for a feature laden site with simple navigation, look no further than Circus Poker.

7/10

Ring Games

I was pleasantly surprised to see that there is considerable traffic at all the stake levels, with thousands of cash tables to choose from, so table selecting is very much possible.

I tried out the Pot Limit Omaha and No Limit Texas Hold'em tables and both were incredibly loose with plenty of players calling to see a flop, I hit a few drawing hands in big multiway pots to finish with a tidy little profit.

Tournaments

The tournament schedule on the Circus Poker website is an excellent tool to help organise yourself, it lists all the upcoming multi table tournaments for the week, so whether you play poker for a living, or just want to maximise your free time, you can be sure that you won't miss out on the action.

The tournament schedule on the Circus Poker website is an excellent tool to help organise yourself, it lists all the upcoming multi table tournaments for the week, so whether you play poker for a living, or just want to maximise your free time, you can be sure that you won't miss out on the action.

There are a constant stream of small stakes tournaments with robust guaranteed prize pools running throughout the day, I believe these present an excellent opportunity to win big for a small investment.

10/10

Sit & Gos

Circus Poker has a thriving Sit & Go community, not only for Texas Hold'em but also Omaha. I enjoyed a handful of the former and found the standard of player to be slightly higher than I expected which was pleasing as I prefer playing against more predictable opponents.

I'm certain decent Sit & Go players can make a profit on this site, infact they may actually prefer this lower variance environment. I managed to beat these games for $200 profit in the space of an evening, whether I can reproduce that long term at the $10 level I'm not sure, but I will definitely be coming back to have another crack at it.

9/10

Support

Manned with friendly staff 24 hours a day, they answered all but one of my questions there and then, they emailed me later that day with a reply to the unanswered one. Their toll free number for UK residents and email second line support get a big thumbs up from me.

Banking

Numerous options are available for reloading your account, they accept Solo, Visa, Visa Debit, Mastercard, Neteller, Moneybookers, Click2Pay, Click and Buy, Ukash and bank transfer, all transactions are instant except for bank transfers which take 2-5 days.

7/10

Standard of Players

Plently of English, French and German players frequent the site and there's quite a friendly atmosphere, plus enough traffic to guarantee a general low standard of play across the site.

Circus Poker is owned by Stanley Casinos who have an online prescence in the form of Circus Casino, there are bound to be casino patrons looking for some fun at the poker tables which can only drive the standard of play down lower.

8/10

Loyalty Promotions

Frequent bonuses are the headline act at Circus Poker.

The promotions available at the time of writing look very useful, especially for those who like to play regularly. Upon opening an account, I was given a gigantic 200% welcome bonus on my intial deposit. Up to $600 maximum for a $300 payment.

If you like the sound of that, you will love their monthly loyalty program where players can earn up to $500 a month simply by depositing the same amount at the start of each calendar month.

These bonuses are credited to your account as you accumulate Circus points while playing, the more you play the higher your VIP status becomes, the higher your status is the quicker the rate at which you earn Circus points. It only took me a week to rise from VIP Level 1 to VIP Level 4 out of a possible 6.

Summary

Frequent bonuses are the headline act at Circus Poker, and you will find a few clowns playing loose enough at the tables.

I particularly liked the easy to use tournament schedule on the Circus Poker website.
